Yr 12 Art major "Hinged Heritage":
This artwork reveals an urban landscape pertaining the changes in environment within which an immigrant family in question has lived over the past few decades. Each panel represents a stage in which their journey from overseas has evolved into a sense of comfort and belonging in an different, everchanging country despite hardships in transitioning to a different environment. The interplay between shading, colours and various symbols provides an idea in the dark, brooding nature of earlier panels representing the said family's difficulty in living in their original country while the increase in vibrant colours in later panels enables the viewer insight in the change in environment and culture. Furthermore the utilization hinged panels and urban forms in the painting display a 3 dimensional aspect in respect to the creative form's nature.
Milwaukee Art Museum:
Built with a unique sail appearance which morphs in response to visiting hours, its design is a fresh divergence from the more older styled architecture within the vicinity of the structure. The utilization of a form which changes over time does not only incite interest from passer by's but also reacts with the many creatively designed windows opened by the absence of the large sail-like apparel, allowing for light to flood into the pavilion, an aspect which gave this museum an award for its design.
Scene of Harbour:
This view of the harbour from a train running through the middle of the harbour bridge allows for a clear shot of the inner shores of the harbour, revealing both natural and artificial forms. This shot displays beauty in the overwhelming space that is representative of a sense of freedom in variety of both natural and urban forms without consisting of a constrictive environment in the form of open space and a clear view of the sky.
